    Chris, I tend to be in agreement with the points you raise. This is not wishful thinking on my behalf, if its wrong its wrong. I have owned and handled numerous undoubtedly genuine crosses with very indistinct core details and poor paint. I don't think that the paint looks bad on this at all. I certainly don't think you can condemn it from the pictures. Low core details, not necessarily a problem on Imperial, on third reich that's another story. I'm assured the pin is round and I'm expecting more photos of the cross which I'll post. I think that the catch which in the photos does look a little clumsy also looks secure and strong but well executed. Not the most delicate of set ups but far from the worst I've seen. Brian, I don't suggest it is a "one off" just something we've not seen here before.
