I'd love to see more for sale, been trying to find the elusive EK1 prinzen for a long time, and every time one comes up, it has already just sold.

    Fun of the chase, eh?

What makes you think the maker was Meybauer? I see no Meybauer traits in it at all.

Core is at least found in a couple Meybauer (shield) marked Prinzens.

They also have another core with a different crown.

Hardware differs on the few i saw.

There is also a Sedlatzek marked one with same core.

And a Werner that might share that core

Yes, a 'Blued Sheet' core, that cross was sold at Emedals once. EKII equivalent is 4 piece made, 2 sheets make up the core. Connection to C F Z never been 100% proved but all info sure point at it. Crown on those is different than the Meybauer counterparts.

What about this one. First 1914 EK1 prinzen I've seen with a cast core!

I would have no issues with having this one in my collection.

Remember this one, might be the 1914 version of the 1870 EKII sometimes found with a Godet button on ribbon, at least the crown reminds of it. Frames might match some of the 1870s. Die must've had a long life considering the die crack flaws.

There was Prinzen 1870 EKI of this style as well, and it had the same hardware as Prinzen EK1 1914 in question. Check the Benemerenti catalog, spring 2017.
