I think Alex has made some good observations. Pages 47, 190,193,,240,242,243,285,287,288 are all described as Juncker badges, they are IMO not. Pages 186,187,188 are listed as Meybauer and IMO are not. Pages 318 and 319 to my mind are dubious. The Bavarian Air gunner on page 131 has the same wreath as the copies that we all see of Pollath badges yet it seems to have a correct eagle and target. The reverse hardware and backplate is the same as a badge shown in the back section on copies(page654) . Plenty more of the same in the marine section too. These are my opinions only of course. Ferg

        Weigel

        Can I ask a favor?

Can someone peak inside the book and see if Weigel's badge is photoed inside?

        Thank you.

I own his WP, some ID documents and his awards (less the badge).

....that badge is my white whale.

four years, six months later.....and I continue to "I'll chase him round Good Hope, and round the Horn, and round the Norway Maelstrom, and round perdition's flames before I give him up."

All poetry aside, this badge continues to be missing from the collecting community. Any information to it's whereabouts would be appreciated. I'll keep any knowledge of the current owner confidential.

                  Thank you.

                    Hi Claudius

I have rather good info on Arthur Weigel career as Marine flyer during WW1, but I assume you have similar info from his WP (Wehrpass).
However I lack his place of birth, do you have that info ?
I only have that he was born 15.04.1894.

                    Gunnar
