    What they came in

Here's an envelope from the Anhalt Ordenkanzelei to an Unteroffizier in an Infantry Regt. With the Kanzelei seal, it measures 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 in. and is made of heavy craft paper. I just wish it still had the doc in it

Got missed again Windy, but not enough to stop the curlews from feeding.

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping the seller can come up with the doc that came in it. I imagine it was a Friedrich Kreuz.

        Hi Tom,

I do like that envelope, especially as the original owner can be traced. Please post the doc if it turns up.

        All the best,

        David

Here is a packet for the Baden Merit Order medal in silver. Unfortunately, someone rather inappropriately wrote "Dad's EK" on it.

Anhalt Friedrich cross and its rather rare issue packet from the front.

Sachsen-Meiningen medal for merit in war lying on grey tissue paper in its original box. The medal is bronzed zinc.

Reuss silver merit medal with swords in the simple black case. There was also a more expensive red case. I don't know if this was the issue case or a private purchase piece, but they are quite common, so I assume they were standard issue.

Does anyone have a nice piece of original ribbon to go with it?

The lid is simply marked with S. M. and crossed swords.
