Mecklenburg Strelitz 1st and 2nd class

    Hi

these 2 uncommon pieces also came to me.
IMO both in silvered bronce. I hope everything
is ok with these nice crosses.
The first class is for me a little highlight.
    Thanks for comments and opinions.

    regards kai

Nice. I have a 2nd class but wasn't aware of a first class pinback. Would love to add one to my collection.

Very nice Kai. Are these Godet made?

                Hi

these both are imo not made by godet.
A collector who knows good the Mecklenburg awards
told me the 1st cl. could be made by meybauer.
Godet is higher quality. But I'm happy about
                my catch.

                regards kai

Vary nice crosses, especially the first class. Why Meybauer?
I thought this are Zimmermann piece like the Schweriner crosses.

                  Regards

Yes I thought aswell, but I were showing it to
Jörg Kalies in Hamburg and he believes the backside
pin could be a Meybauer. He actualy don't agreed
to Zimmerman when I asked for this maker.
                    I think he knows better

                    regards kai

The top of the pin seems too narrow, and its overall shape doesn't reflect a typical Meybauer pin. Also, the 'V' notch at the top is a trademark design of Zimmermann. So, I would tend to agree with others that it's a Zimmermann.

Either way, it's a nice and fairly scarce piece.

Aboslutely, definitely, 1000% NOT Meybauer. The pin is totally incorrect - Meybauer never used a notched pin from what I've seen - and the obverse details are incorrect for Meybauer. See my Meybauer marked example.

I like the example posted, probably a wartime example imo. I aso agree that it is likely by the same maker as some of the Meck-Schwerin wartime 1st Class examples.

                          Regards
                          Mike

                            Hi Gents,

what a very nice duscussion . I now know that
you are right. This type belongs to the zimmermann
                            crosses.

Schwerin 1 class, 100% classic zimmermann (has been mine until last month)
