    Junckers WW1 MG Badge

    Hi,

I purchased several items as a group lot and some of WW2 items have been confirmed as repros, included in the lot were a variety of WW1 items and I would really appreciate some help to determine if the items are all repros or if there is a mix of original and repro.

    Any opinions would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Steve

        Hi Robin,

Thanks for sharing that with me, your help is appreciated, it is a great relief to know that it is not a repro. I have some other items which I will be posting tomorrow once I get the pictures sorted out. Hopefully these will turn out to be OK also.

        Regards and thanks again,

        Steve

I have seen the MG badge sell for up to 200.00. The IAB you should know as well as I.

          Cheers
          Gary

This is the correct badge. Nice one.

              Look at both of these. One is in the photo;

              http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=19507

You'll notice one does match the photographic evidence and one does not.

                Hi Brian,

Thanks for the information and opinion, I had previously read through some of your comments in other threads but had not seen this one.

                Regards

                Steve

You'll notice one does match the photographic evidence and one does not. But I still believe in this type.

What does that thread link of Brian tell us?

If the second badge he shows is the one on the period picture (and exactly that is the case), then the first one he shows must be the fake. Why? Juncker maker marks differ significantly, look e.g. at the K in JUNCKER.

Now Steve´s (stecon6591) badge in question matches the doubtful badge in Brian´s thread (check the maker marks and compare). Ergo, Steve´s badge in question = fake.
                  Cheers, Frank

If anybody is interested, there is more evidence here:

                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=65907

I leave that other part of the discussion in Third Reich war bades for the time being, because it relates to a fake EK combo (1914 EK1 + 1939 spange) marked with the same fake Juncker mark.
                    Cheers, Frank
