And what of the silvered bronze? I have one of those, got excited thinking it was a full silver one until I had it in my hand. I still like it.

And without this article, I would have assumed the aluminium ones are private purchase, too, by the obvious(!) reasons. Aluminium wasn't easy to get, zinc always was. Anything non-zinc should be private purchase, for this late instituted award.

Replacing zinc by aluminium due to scarcity of raw materials just makes no sense at all.
