    1870 A-type EK2... I'm worried

    Hello All,

Here's one I posted previously that got the thumbs up, see:
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=514695

    BUT...
    after reading this recent thread..
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=568910
    and this one:
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=445629

I have started to have some worries about my one, especially about the slight gap at the top of the core. Any more opinions, taking this into consideration?

The statistics of the cross are:
    width: 41.74mm
    height: 41.85mm
    weight (without ribbon): 16.9g

I'd really like to hear what you guys think, be it good or bad.

    Regards - Danny

And views of the soldering at the edges.
Apologies for the poor quality photographs.

        Hi,

IMO the soldering looks good. It does have a small blob in the 1813 side crown, but only there. I can't speak about the oakleaves, but the ek does look very nice and detailed and I would not pass on it.

        Best regards,
        Michel

          Thanks Michel,

          I really appreciate your opinion.
The blob in the crown was also a matter of concern for me, and when coupled with the gap, it started me worrying.

I would take a chance on this one. The crown is a bit sloppy but the date
is nice and sharp as is the detail on the reverse.
