Greetings All,
(I erroneously posted this in the Wehrmacht awards forum earlier this AM and am reposting it here...apologies for the error.)
I acquired the following supposed WWI vintage EKII quite a long time ago for the outrageous sum of $12 and was wondering if one of you experts here could give me a bit of info on it.
This is a three-piece item with a magnetic core, and silver surronds and loop, (which have all tarnished), and there appears to be the remnants of a maker's mark as indicated by the red arrow. However, it is so faint and shallow that I cannot sort out what it might be: could be an 'F'; could be a narrow 'W'; could just be an odd series of nicks that only look like a maker's mark; can't tell at all unfortunately. Any help in ID'ing this item will be much appreciated.
Cheers!
Lou
