Sorry Bobbylee, but I agree with Fergus. I don't like the gilding. Same like on the observer badge. Can you make some pictures on day light.

It has similarities with the badge on Blades book page 399. I could not say something to the other badges on your display but I'm aware that there are more badges not from the period.

    Regards

    Alex

Really Alex, your ability to judge from afar is blinding. How about you share with us your collection of badges. You seem more interested in criticism than discussion of the facts involving badge manufacturing. I'm interesting in opinions which help progress the hobby not looking to discredit collectors. Give it a rest (if you can) and let those who seem to know something about this subject continue the conversation.

Ferg, I purchased the badge from a Air Force Captain in 1972 who had been stationed in Germany in the 1960's. He collected Thrid Reich so wasn't cool to Imperial. I also got another badge from him at the same time which I am listing.

(Please Alex, let others have a shot, not your intense desire to debunk)

Yep, that's a nice Schaper commemorative. Nothing wrong there . The little reinforcing struts on the reverse is a nice Schaper characteristic. I have one like this too.Getting very rare......and expensive ! Ferg

What I wrote here is my oppinion. You like it or not. You don't have to agree with me, like you do.

All the pictures you post here are made by the same light condition. It will help if you do some pictures that are not so faded. I can only evaluate what I see.

I don't said that the observer badge is a copy for example. Read my thread. I had concerns about the material because it doesn't look like bronce.

About the see pilot badge I told you me concerns. It seems that Fergus share the same concerns.

I spent many hours (less than Fergus but a lot) examine aviation badges. Making and collecting pictures of different badges.
Can you say this about you?

I can't post pictures on this forum but if you like to see pictures of my badges, feel free to use this link. When the pictures will be available (I hope soon), I would like to hear your oppinion on the presented badges.

          Regards

          Alex

I hope the photos are back up on the forum soon.

It's been irritating though I understand and try to be patient.

Could you post more on GMIC for us to view?
