Yes. But, what is the grey color all over the badge coming from ??
Gilded ok. But the base is not bronze.

Ok Alex, glad your study of metals allows you to determine composition on a couple of photos on the net. You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but maybe we should remember the I was only trying to help the original posting.
The badge is what it is, composition wise. After 35 years of collecting Imperial badges, I think I can tell the difference when I an able to hold the item in my hands. No need to carry this on.
                    Best regards,

Sorry but this is my oppinion from what I see on your pictures. Possible I'm Wrong but it doesn't looks like expected.

Could you show the other badges if you are not aware to hear the oppinion of other collectors.

                      Regards

Thanks for the kind remarks. In line with the original post here is a nice Schaper navy Sea Pilot badge.

Hi Bobbylee, hate to say it but I am not convinced that the last badge you show is a good one either. If you can, take a look at other (genuine)Schaper sea pilot badges and you will see that yours differs in detail. Also the detail is softer on yours. I have seen this type of badge before and in my opinion they are dangerous copies. Very close to the original but not quite right. For example the pin is not correct for this maker, wider than normal, I have never seen variations of the standard pin ,unless a repair of course. Take a look at the examples shown in the Baldes book. They are all the same by this maker. None like yours I am afraid. One clue is the shape of the eagles tail , another is the crown arch detail not quite the same, as with other areas of the badge too. I guess it could be a second die used but I rather doubt that . Ferg

Hi Ferg, thanks for the comments. If this is a copy then they were making them for a long time. I picked up this badge in 1972. To include even the reinforce bar for the crown is detail I haven't seen on copies. Perhaps you have examples? Also, can you provide a pic of the reverse of the badges you posted? The more information, the better.
                                Best regards.
