From 2010:
I have always been interested in this cross. Why didn't Godet mark them? They seem to have marked everything else. And yet I was sure Godet made them. They had Godet cores and frames, workmanship, paint, everything. The Iron Crescent really clinched it for me, but even that piece was an unmarked piece of the Godet type. I was always looking for some more evidence.
Today I found what I consider a very important piece of evidence. Check out the Sub badge below (from HH Auktion 68). This dude also has an oval-washer screwback EK1, with the later Godet frame (what we call the "wideframe") and the (quite uncommon for Godet) "slant-W" core, also seen in this thread in post 13. This also helps me date this frame, and the oval-washer SBs, to the late '20s, early '30s, since this mark was used in that period.
Hope you all like it too. Made my day.
