I am not familiar with this particular core type used in Prinzens.

I know the cross has been cleaned, I got that info from the previous owner.
As for the 2 rivets, I am not sure why they are there, or what they are. I think that maybe at some point it was done to hold it together.
I checked again and the frame is 100% silver, with a strong magnetic core, three piece construction.

The rivets maybe an old repair, frames may started to separate at some point in time and got fixed with rivets, can you show the edge of the riveted side.

The two small circular marks on the frame of the cross posted by jozefhess at the start of this thread look nothing LIKE rivets to me...??

They simply look like the small circular mark clearly visible on the lower 9 o'clock arm of the dodgy "1813" ek2 in this thread... http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...60&postcount=1

Would like to see these so called 'rivets' close up if poss...
