ek1 fake or 57 replacement?

In any case, I would not own the piece that started this thread in my collection.

I should clarify: I only said I would not have this one in my collection because I can no longer (or not yet) differentiate it from a fake. If I were 100% sure it was an S&L replacement piece from the '70s, I would have it. But I'm not 100% sure -- so why take the risk?

I think those crosses made by C.F.Rothe, here is the an example of 1914GC star that I have, the ek core looks the same and that company was in business for a long time after the war.
