Ok I give up... I am always doubting. Not to sum up all the possible makers, but you don't have a photo of the back? The needle tells a lot. SW could also be a possibility.

      Best regards,
      Michel

I'm afraid a photo of the reverse won't help you much

The picture isn't good enough to see the crown clearly-it could be a "JWS"(this maker has used more than one pin system)

I've seen that cross before...ebay maybe? The pin set up looks like it was soldered on the cross yesterday. Ammersee

No it was on the estand mate.

The price was right so I'm not exactly fussed when it was converted, I was just interested in the manufacturer of the Cross.

In hand it does actually show age and the patina on the top arm where the ring was taken off and buffed smooth is the same as the rest of the Cross.

Very nice. I remember one on Detlev with a Godet core. The needle was also horizontal. I always wondered why the needle wasn't attached vertically, the same way as a normal EK1. If you put this on your tunic doesn't it look a bit sloppy? Can't it slip off less easily if vertical?

                      Best regards,
                      Michel

I saw this on the estand and I thought at the time that the pin and related work looked kind of recent.

Yeah different in hand though Steve but like I said I'm not that bothered when it was done, I quite like it.

Yes I wondered why the pin was put on horizontal and yes it doesn't sit well when pinned on, the top of the Cross leans forward.

Dave, I cannot believe you don't care when this was done. If this was done recently why would you want to own it? To each there own of course, but modern modification don't do it for me.
