      Hi Dragnet,

its a known variant. I got ground dug one, details are still there as it didn't rust away.

      See
      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=319801

      Its a possible Deumer.

      Best regards,
      Michel

A common variant believed to be made in the 1920s-30s. If you
compare the size of this one next to an older 1914, you will find
this one is larger. Made to 1939 size specs.

I like these. The gold tone beading makes a nice addition to the
        silver and black.

These come in two different sizes. I'm pretty sure that the example shown here is actually the older, smaller (~42mm) size. George Stimson, among others, has an L/11 marked example that is in the TR (~44mm) size.

Trevor, this one is slightly convex, so would the 42/44 be from top to bottom/flat? Pete.

this is an iron cross who is made in the 1920-1930s. the manufacturer is "wilhelm Deumer" lüdenscheid. there are versions with needle and also screwback (we call them "sternschraube"). the version with sternschraube is also existing in the "schinkelform" and was early produced 1939/1940 bevor LDO.

i have an deumer with brass and one with core made of copper. all 3 part magnetic. the needle versions are always vaulted.

Nice cross Pete, I like these Brass core models.

Wiedman also used this type of hinge on TR EK's. I've also seen this Brass core used with at least four different pin/hinge configurations.
