        Whenwould this have occurred? When did AWS go out of business? Could AWS and Juncker have gotten thier cores from a thid party supplier?

          I've tried searching the net for the history of AWS, aka AWES-Muenze, aka A Werner Berlin, etc. Nothing. I really had a sneaking suspicion that they were forced out of business by the Nazis. It would be great if one of our German researchers could do some digging over there.

          I have always agreed with Micha that Juncker took over AWS dies/materials. AWS was an old firm, founded mud 1800s from memory. Re these EK1s, I believe (but of course can not proove) that they made them before Juncker had anything to do with the TR (L/12) examples.

            HERE is some very interesting information (in German). Among other things, it says they were in business until 1941.

            A page from their catalogue (pre WWI) shows what looks to me like Wilhelm I's Reduktion Ordensspange (at the very top).
