Is the belt similar to the British Vickers ?
I have on that looks like the one that it is in these photos, but I was told that they it is a Vicker ammo belt.

The relic I had was told to me that it came from Vimy Ridge by a relative of the neighbor who had given it to me. It had been badly vandalized and all the missing parts and bits had been taken/stolen, and the gun had wound up in a rock pile behind their house, until it came to me.
