    Hauptmann Albert Hüglin personal file

    Hello to all,

I have this page which is probably out of the personal file of a Hauptmann der Reserve Albert Hüglin plus some documents. These are dated from 1919 and 1920 and as far as I can read and understand the handwritten letters, they are about the personal file (Personalbogen) and Hauptmann Hüglin complained that the file is not complete.

Here is the page, both sides:

So far I can read the most entries here. Hüglin was promoted to Hauptmann in november 26th, 1916.
    His awards were:

    What was the first award ? L. ?. 2 ( 10.3. 14) ??
The Iron Crosses are clear. The last one is probably the Österreichischer Militärverdienstorden 3. Klasse mit Kriegsdekoration ? What is the decoration before that ? B. Z. 3b m. E. u. S. ????

His campaigns and battles. All the time in France.

He saw service in the fieldartillery, Rgt. 84, A.O.K. 2, II. Armee and later was at the Fieldartillery Rgt. 31 a battallions leader.
He was released in december 1918.

What I would like to know, as always, did he make a further career in the Reichswehr and Wehrmacht. Being a Hauptmann in 1918 could have brought him well to a general later.

    Any infos appreciated.

    Kind regards
    Robert

The First award (L.D. 2.) looks like a Landwehr-Dienstauszeichnung 2. Klasse (long service award for reserve troops). The other one must be a Order of a Grandduchy but I don't know, which one. The abbreviation 3b is very likely for the class of this order (RK 2. Kl.) and E. u. S. means probably "mit Eichenlaub und Schwerter".... I am sure Rick knows it!

    Ciao,

    Claudio

          Hello,

I found a Hauptmann dR Albert Hüglin of FAR 22 who got the II. Klasse Ritterkreuz m.E.u.S. on 15.09.1917.

          Regards,
          Jan

            Reserve Officer

As a reserve officer it would appear that Hauptmann Albert Hüglin left military service permanently at the conclusion of WW1. No serving officer of that name appears in the 1939 Stellenbesetzung or any of the inter-war years Reichsheer Ranglisten.

The Austro-Hungarian Award is the Militärverdienstkreuz 3rd Class with War Decoration.

            Regards
            Glenn

Hüglin was a Lt dR in Baden Feldart Rgt 66 in 1914, with only the LD2, resident of Freiburg. I don't find him after the war.

I have the Autengruber published OZL wartime "with swords" roll.

Thanks so far for the good infos.

Freiburg is confirmed by the letters, in one of them is his address.

As said before, Hüglin was called to confirm the entries in his personal file, which he denied. In 1920 he wrote: " I am not willing to confirm the personal file in its momentary form, I think I have a right for a more complete and correct version !"
I don't know about what he complained. A missing decoration ? Wrong units ?
Hüglin had also a doctor - title, don't know if medic or what else.

                Thanks
                Robert
