I am hoping that someone could tell me what the disks from Imperial Screwback EK1s are made from and also their dimensions?
The type that I am after is for a "800" marked EK1 that has a brass (?) bolt that screws into a post on the reverse of the cross to hold the disk on - this bolt has a thin, slightly "knurled" head approx 15mm or 5/8" in diameter.
Based on other EK1s with similar bolts I know that the disk is plain in appearance.
Am I correct in assuming that the disk is also made from "800" silver?
Could someone tell me the diameter of the disk and also how "dished" it is (i.e. height when layed flat)?
Also if possible, could someone tell me how thick the metal is?
As you can gather, I have a 1914 EK1 without the disk (my first Imperial EK1 and still my favourite) and am intending to get one made (unless someone has a spare!?!).
If anyone else has a similar type EK1 without a disk and is also interested in getting a replacement then by all means contact me by PM
