Moderator Ricky made a house call today to drop off the teensy tiny Austrian Wehrmacht bar over in the General Wehrmacht Forum and this one.
From the seller's scan (and the seller, BTW, stuck STICKY LABELS ON THE OBVERSES OF EACH OF HIS RIBBON BARS< LEAVING PERMANENT STAINS--- duuuuhhh!!!! ), it looked like the solid blue was a Prussian Crown Order (or less likely, a Württemberg Friedrich Order). But nope, the Two Rickies compared many a long service and Crown and this is just a softly faded out long service.
Odd combination-- Brunswick (X Corps) and the two Lippes (VII Corps). The Brunswick House Order of Henry the Lion in next to last place is unusual, but as a "pre-1897 seniority" not much of a clue.
Because: what the heck is the solid green in final place?
1) Brunswick Lifesaving Medal? (So rare I can find NO 1914 officer with one)
2) Turkish Lifesaving Medal? (with no other Turkish award?)
3) Italian Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus (and so a 1920s bar, not worn during the war when Italy was the enemy 1916-18?)
4) Persian Order of the Sun and Lion?
5) Swedish Vasa Order?
6)
So far I have found a lot of "cross pollination" between VII and X Corps among administrative Beamten, but... no match.
It is GOOD to have something to do on long dark winter nights when nothing is on TV!
