Hansen ek1 differences/opinions please

I own a pair of Hansen ek1's and there are differences between the two. One is 800 marked on the ek itself while the other is unmarked. There are differences in frame widths, the crowns and stud lengths.
Both seem to be of quality construction but different they are!
Opinions please.

Hi Frank,
First let me say--2 Hansons
Some clearer scans would really be nice but it it is not unheard of
that a company would use different cores. KO used at least 2 different
cores.
I have been wanting to add a Hanson to my collection for some time and
here you have 2 of them. You must live right.

Hi Frank,

First up, the second Hansen you've posted is imo the "textbook" Hansen core. Both of my Hansens have that core. One is an "800" from the Niemann hoard, the other is an old and abused "938". I don't recall reading about Hansen marking the crosses themselves with 800 - only the screwdisk (but I could be wrong on this point).

The first Hansen you've posted has a very generic core - high quality and more than likely wartime, but used my many makers.

So, I'm thinking either two things with the first example you've posted;

1) someone has matched a Hansen screwback device to an 800 marked cross.
2) Hansen have outsourced some crosses from another (probably Berlin) maker.
