    i need some expert opinions on this piece is it the real deal and how much would one pay for one of these

        Hello,

        to be honest I would pay for such a cross about 20 Euros maximun and
        would open a new section in my collection the "FAKE SECTION".

                      I have never seen an original Iron Cross with a pin like that before.

                      Many years ago there used to be fakes from Poland with pins like that.

                        You don't even need to look at the back of this cross to tell it is bad.
                        When ever you see a crown like this one, either 1870 or 1914-----
                        RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY FAST. It is the textbook example of the "muffin
                        crown" fake. If you do a search for it you will find a lot of discussion about these over the years. Fake fake fake.
