I saw a thread recently on collecting Imperial German coins and then came upon a few myself. Not a collector, but they seemed very interesting. Several colonial including one in Arabic. For you collectors, are these fairly common? I know condition is important but these seem scarce in my experience. Thanks.

I have a habit of picking up WW1 coins to display with my personal items that a soldier would have carried. I have never seen one of these before, but if I had, I would have bought it. I would bet most of these got left in the colonies and perhaps the silver reused to make new coins of the victors. I would bet the one with the arabic writing is a token produced by a local company that could be redeemed by them. It was common to see this due to a shortage of minted coins, such as the tokens seen during our Civil War. Nice pieces!
