1914 EKI 1930s made Zimmermann?

Hi guys,

Any idea on the manufacturer of this Cross? It looks like a Zimmermann but with a tapered pin, 1930s made?

I agree that it does look very much like a Zimmerman.
Can't help with dating it. but it could be a unmarked L/52 Zimmerman

Thanks Greg First time I've seen a Zimmermann with this style tapered pin and the one you've shown is the same pin but with a slightly different hinge block, very interesting.

I believe this core is as was used by CF Zimmerman for their 1939 model 1914 EK I.
I don't recognize the frame, but I don't recognize the guy in the mirror at times either!
The hardware is unfamiliar to me. Can you provide height/width?

I'm not sure, but I think it's the Frank Wernitz book.

All I can say is that it's Imperial "Schinkel" size and not 1939 EK size. I believe (without checking) Zimmermann '39 model '14 Crosses are actually of the Schinkel style are they not?

Always found the CFZ 1914/39 EKI crosses interesting for the reason you state.
The "flanges" on the frame are not as wide as other crosses (WWI period or the 1939 "Schinkel").
This not only makes them a bit smaller by measurement of course, but makes a significant visual change because of the altered proportions to the frame beading and core.
Out of my knowledge for sure, but do not 1914 EK2s attributed to CFZ exhibit narrow flanges as well???

Hmm interesting, your example does indeed have a very narrow flange. The Cross I've shown appears similar to the example in Dietrichs' EKI book, with a slightly wider flange.
