    Well...Looks like Ratisbons changed the description of the 2nd PLM they had up for auction. (post 19 below)

    The new description now says:

    "A high-quality REPLICA (!) of a 1930s made Prussian Pour le Mérite. Machine-woven neck ribbon probably of an early date.

    The order is "M" marked to the bottom of the lower cross arm. Furthermore "800" silver stamped twice to the rings. Original gilding."


    Typically the withdraw identified Fakes from the auction. Current bid is Euro 645.

      That one is more typical of a 1970s-1990ish fake.

        Thanks Don. We know I'm still learning about these. But even when I saw it up for auction I never gave it a second look.

          Post 19 plm is a modern fake. Ribbon too.

            The PLM that started this thread sold for Euro 725 (plus Euro 163 buyers premium + shipping and credit card fees)

            The one in post 19 (even though listed as a "copy") sold for Euro 1,035 (plus Euro 233 buyers premium + shipping and credit card fees)
