STASI wore it too.
This belts was called: "Feldbinde". We wore it with the Parade-uniform (as you already wrote) and with the "Grosser Abendanzug" (Grosser Gesellschaftsanzug).
On the left side the Feldbinde is a bit strengthened. There we wore the Ehrendolch.
