    myddrcaps,

There would be no reason for the female members of the VOPO to wear a different cap during the period you have mentioned. There is no indication that male members of the VOPO wore anything other than there standard cap badge until the end of the DDR on Oct 2, 1990.

    Regards,

    Gordon

If you look at her exactly, you see that she's also wearing the grey Button In Collar. You can see the inner Rim clearly.

Thanks Gordon, so the Vopo continued to use the state emblem in the wreath up until the end.

Well spotted, Nico. Its obvious when you know what you're looking for but I certainly didn't see it till you pointed it out.

Was that a common item of dress in DDR uniforms or just police?
          Cheers,

Gordon, who else in the DDR had that button in shirt collar top apart from the police? Cheers, Torsten.

                Torsten,

What I meant to say was that fake fur collars are common in the DDR. I do not know if the fake fur collars used on the NVA winter clothing was removable or not. Sorry about that.

                Regards,

                Gordon

the fake fur collar was used with most ddr winter uniforms and was removeable, but the button in shirt collar, as shown in the photos below was only used by the police ... as far as I know. Cheers, Torsten.

                    Torsten,

Thanks. I guess I got confused about what collar we were talking about. I guess that I confuse easy these days.

                    Regards,
