Insignia Manufacturer Card Board NVA / Polizei 1956 ?

I have seen this maker card board (?) for sale on ebay. My main interest is in collecting ww1 and ww2 stuff, but these early DDR items are very intersting too.

The insignia look like early cap insignia for NVA Soldaten (Landstreitkraefte/ Luftstreitkraefte) and I think the other star was worn on Polizei caps.

Who can tell me more about these cap insignia?

When they were in use? 1956-1961?

Sergeant 08 - Give it some time in reference to your question. The members who might be able to assist with your question may not have seen your question yet.

      Thanks...

        Your observation is correct.

Early NVA Air Force; NVA Land Forces; and DDR Police.

I saw these on ebay too,
You are correct the Army and Airforce insignia is of the NVA pattern for lower ranks between 1956-61

The police star was used until 1954 by the general police and 2 years earlier for border personnel.

all the badges seem to be original, though I'd like to see if the back pins are still present..

I had luck and won the auction yesterday. The card board was not cheap, but I would not say too expensive. I bought it, because it looked nice and I had no doubts about the originality.

PS: Thanks for the information about the police star!

Just to add a bit to what David has already mentioned:

The winged wreath & propellor device were worn on enlisted & NCO visor hats, while the wreath only was worn on the EM & NCO M43-style winter caps.

The wreath on the lower left was worn on Army EM & NCO visor hats as well as the M43-style winter cap.

The Police "starburst" was worn on EM, NCO & officer rank visor hats & M43-style caps.

The insignia looks good to me as well, although I agree with David that it's a wise precaution to find out if the prongs are still intact.

Thanks for more facts! Another reason to buy it was, the seller wrote the insignia are untouched and in complete condition (with all original pins). I will know it during next days....

Maybe I will start to collect more old, nice DDR stuff

But I did not find a photo with the early insignia of the Luftstreitkraefte! If somebody has one, please show us!

PS: If you have other early NVA and Polizei photos before 1961, please post!

OK, it seems nobody has an early NVA Luftstreikraefte photo...
