It' the Registration code of the Contract or order of these Cards.
In that case Contract No. 744 of 1956 first produced Lot.

I talked with the seller and he said it is not an insignia Muster card to order insignia. He said it came from the PRÄWEMA collection of insignia, that were made by this maker.
In that case I would tell the same. All my Cards from the Präwema collection had the Präwema Stamp on it.

Your cards have a stamp. What do want to tell me with your comment? Ok, no stamp on my card. Who knows why? Is there something that is not ok with these insignia? I'm no DDR insignia expert, but I think the insignia look fine to me.

              Other thoughts?

My concers are only about the Card and the Assemly, NOT the Badges. These look fine to me. The only thing I want to explain is, that it is very unusual to have different Branches of Service on one Card, especially 2 different Departments like the Department of Defense and the Department of Interior.

                  Hello Nico,
the insignia looks fine and I think the card is period made too. The card has no stamp, but it has the printed number (you said contract or order number) and the handwritten numbers. I think we will never be able to find a final answer, why this card has this unusual combination of insignia. Order card or a card from the collection? Who knows? But I'm happy with it! My main interest is in ww1/ww2. I know not all things, that are no textbook examples, must be bad items. Thanks for your comment! I'm always interested to hear other thougts.

Post your early DDR insignia, items or photos that show it in wear!

Sergeant 08 - Great pictures, items, and discussion. Here's a picture of a young Luftstreitkraefte recruit wearing some of the insignia from your card.

The bottom right reads "Otto Henssgen REG I Meiningen".

                                All the best - TJ
