I will post another interesting Medal Case in hope that more Collectors will participate on this Thread and show their Medal Cases with the matching Award.
I think this area is very interesting and important to explore for the future of DDR Collecting. I think it has the same importance like for Collectors of TR awards, to find out what the correct case should look like for the Award, as they are so many different cases for DDR awards.

      Regards

Gordon and Andreas - In reference to the Friendship star case and document case depicted in the photos. I have recently seen one from a friend who owns one in silver with document. His came in the same type of case and document as depicted in the posted photographs.

Gordon what time period is your friendship star? Thanks...

            Ralph,

Sorry being slow to answer. We have house guests from Canada and they have occupied most of my time.
Unfortunately, I can not give you a definitive answer as to thime frame for my Friendship Star. I have not been able to study enough of them complete with documents to come to any conclusions about the dat of mine. I would say it was late issue more from a gut feeling than anuthing else. The star has the early type barrel catch for the pin but a pebbled surface like some other late issue awards have. The IS has the last type latch and combined these two things lead my the late issue guess.

            Regards,

            Gordon

                      Uwe,

Nice cased awards. I'm interested in the needle type you listed as a combination of the second and third types. I would appreciate it if you would post a picture of this needle type.

                      Regards,

                      Gordon

                        Hi Gordon,

we are talking only about Bartel 54c (Bartel 3. edition 2003). there are shown three different bars (reverse) of 54c.

Bartel is not allways correct, e.g. a medal between 54f and 54g is absent, Verdienter Aktivist 34mm, not enamelled, but lacquered.

                        This is the variant version:

                        Regards
                        Uwe

There are so many different medals and cases, representing the "Verdienter Aktivist"

And so many different award documents, first DIN A3 to last DIN A5, it is amazing!

And several different statements in the award document, it is incredible.

Here is my small collection, showing the different medals and cases, but not the documents!

                          First 34mm:

                          Next 35mm:
