Hi Jon, what years are those issues from? Cheers, Torsten.

Hi Torsten, the dates of the NG's are:
January 1970 "Berlin: On Both Sides of the Wall" [Woman and Monkey on cover]
September 1974 "East Germany: The Struggle to Succeed" [Bird on cover]
January 1982 "Two Berlins" [This is the one where you see the WR? soldier]

I will look through the rest of my NG's for you all. I know there is one laying around that covers Martin-Luther and the Celebration's held in Wittenberg-Lutherstadt (or is it Lutherstadt-Wittenberg?) from GDR times.

      Jon.

          Jon m,

Good point. I believe that I have all of the issues of the National Geographic that you have posted and they are terrific reference material. Some of my best pictures are from this magazine. Every time my local library in Canada sell off old National Geographics I go through them looking for interesting articles and pictures.

          Regards,

          Gordon

              Alltag in der DDR
              Faksimile Edition.

This is a large Folder that is published by "Weltbild" i think and comes out every month with a new Series. I think the complete File has 24 Series in total, because you start with Series 24 (reunion) and the Folder and every next month you buy another Series starting from No.1.that you just add to the Folder.

The best bit about it is, every Series has differnt subject and to the subject lots of Examples. All Examples are Copys (Faksimlies) but are very nice. At the end of the Folder, you have a chronoligical Ordered Chapter for DDR Products.. a DDR Chronic and a DDR Lexicon with the typical DDR Terms.

I know this is quite hard to get for people outside of Germany but I have seen those Folders sometimes on ebay..complete or half completed (still worth having because of the illustrative material.

Here are just a few Photos of the content.

These are Examples for one Series.
Each Series has different Examples like Manuals for typical DDR Household Things, DDR Product Labels,Poster, Urkunden, Ausweise and even Stasi Files
