      Robert,

I have several DDR NVA Lanyards as well as civilian ones. Do you have questions?

      Regards,

      Gordon

          Robert,

I am unable to get the high degree of magnification with either of my digital cameras that you have in your photo. I can not tell the number of strands in each braid. The best I can do is post a picture of one of my lanyards for reference purposes.

          Regards,

          Gordon

Just for future reference (you know, thirty years from now when DDR militaria is the in thing and the original items I stockpiled are worth enough to make you scream ), why do some laynards have five strands and others have four? Is it dependent on what year they were manufactured?

                Matthew,
posted by me pictures are actually from TR lanyards...the thing is, i was suspicious about 5 strands example and i have noticed that the cord design is very close to the DDR lanyards. That’s the reason why I would like to see a s many DDR lanyards pictures as possible to find correct pattern…

This thread inspired me to take a lok at my laynards under a magnifying glass. I was unable to determine the thread count. Unlike the photos posted by Robert, the threads are not clearly defined and visable. Unless I get a much mor powerful magnifying glass or look under a microscope, there is no way I can determine the count.

Gordon, you are about to be the proud new owner of a DDR lanyard, just like the one I've posted here. Out of curiosity, check it with a loupe or glass when you get it...

..............And for Robert, here are the DDR ferrule knotts that you requested.
