    David,

Two very fine early tunics. The double breasted Ausgangsjacke is a textbook example of what they should look like. The cuff treatment mimics the 1936 Ordnungspolizei uniform regulations. "Somewhat rare" as you indicate.

      Hi David,

Thanks for posting the two examples of Dark Collar era Polizei Tunics. As always - the examples are superb.

        David,

Thanks for posting pictures of those great tunics. Really wonderful reference stuff for us uniform collectors who are not lucky enough to own one!

        Regards,

        Gordon

          Hi all

I'll take this Chance to show my 1959 Dark Collar Officers VP Tunic on this Thread.
I know the Tschako is not an Officers one and does not match with the Tunic..but it just displays very nice

I'm also not sure about the Sport Badges being on the correct Side and if they were worn on this Tunic..but again..it just displays so nice

          ..here we go..

Just noticed a difference in the Buttons on my Tunic..this Photo and on the first tunic David has posted (the second Tunic from David has the same Buttons like mine)

Are the Buttons on the Photo and Davids doubel breasted Tunic of later Issue? They appear to be like the "normal" VP/NVA Buttons.

David, could you please tell the dates of your Dark Collar VP Tunics?

                      Thanks & Regards
                      Andreas

P.S. Is it me or is the Collar on the Photo below missing the green piping???

Wonderful tunic Andreas ! Looks very good with the shako (even if not a officer one).

                          Andreas,

A very nice tunic! This style of buttons on your tunic is perfectly OK. They are probably dished on the back with a goldish color back. Your tunic is probably a bit earlier than the photo of the one with rimmed buttons. That is why it also has piping at the collar and cuffs. Generally speaking, the sport awards were worn on the left breast about this time.

I hope this helps and if it does not fit your torso, I will take it off your hands and put it on one of mine.

I think it looks fab and the schako puts that nice finishing touch to the display. An "untrained" eye would never know

Thanks all for the nice comments..much appreciated

George, Thank you very much for the helpful Info about Buttons and Sport Badges I will change the Sport Badges to the correct Side. Is there any kind of Award/Badge that was worn on the right Side?

                              Best Regards
                              Andreas

IMHO it's a service jacket, but i'm not sure there is a difference between service and parade jacket in the Vopo.
