Nothing wrong with those, they are just the earlier type 1959-71

I prefer these early screen printed ones to the later embroided variety, also interesting they've used a K98, which in the 50's was standard issue to the KG, in the later patches the rifle becomes more stylistic....

I have one of these cap, new and inissued with the old cockade. The cap is dated 1968 but in the Keubke and Zoller they stated that this cockade was no longer used after 1960. Who knows more ?

I wish I could find a cap like this.

                They Did!

Its like the old NVA Officers hand embroidered cocades were they left the outer brass ring, removed the rest and covered them with the new cocade.
I know some of the "Old Guard" who used the old ones to show that they are some of the first recruits in the KG.
BTW. Dr. zoller, who is a Flight Doctor to the German Air force bought some of the things in the Book in my shop.
                Cheers

                    Gents,

Very nice cap and patches. The cap appears to be made of material similar to the the KG uniforms rather than the wool used in similar caps in
the Police etc. Is it the same colour as the later KG uniforms or a differnet colour?

                    Cheers,

                    Gordon

The KG cap is not mine. So I'm not able to answer your question.

However, the patch seems different of what I have found on Internet.
