If you 're interested in the GDR generals, buy the book "Die generale und Admirale der NVA".It's got over 300 short biographies from all nva and grenztruppen generals. It's a great book,a musst for general collectors.
You can buy it at: links verlag, they have more fantastic biographies.
      Look at: www.linksverlag.de

It happend to me a time ago.
Now I only buy at trustful dealers, the price is a little bit higher. But you get the originals.
        What do you have more??

I avoid stasi stuf as this is too asked, so the best chances to be faked. The name is typed, seems correct, isn't it?

Exactly that one!!!He offerd almost 10 of them.from different nva/mfs Gen oberst.KEEP YOURE HANDS OF IT!!!!
The stasi orden with urkunden are not very rare and expensive, just look at the German ebay - sammlen seltenes - DDR nostalgie - orden abzeichen ore uniformen.
There you will find it much cheaper and from more respected dealers, for example : Geldnotrot - abzeichen konig and others

no way of telling from his single pic if original or not...might well be a photocopy, or might be original. I still have my own cert that was given to me by a little Jungpionier after the parade along with some flowers.... we had to re-group directly opposite the House des Lehrers after the parade was over when we were given those certs. What annoys me a little is that the seller just says that the cert has these signature, but he does not say that the signatures are only printed....Cheers, Torsten.

my concern is about typed words...if the guy masters typed technique, it could be a corre t level of faking...handwritting is easier for a faker. But I avoid cheap stuff dedicated to general, as it is antinomic since there where few NVA generals!

btw, does anyone know how many active NVA Generals there were serving at the end of the 1980's? I always remember being told that there were about 150? Cheers, Torsten.

There where hand write and typed words on general urkundes.Till the end of 60s the most where handwrite.Like treue dienste, verdienst, waffenbruder and kampforden.Later they where typed.
But the FDJ and GST urkundes where written till the end, they look very cheap. But they are original.
The garanty is the seller.Try to find out what he's ever sold?Does he have more and different stuff??Does he's got complete collections.

                            A Good Find!

                            Gentlemen,

Very hard awards to find. But they contribute in giving a story of a high ranking East German General or Admiral.
