a friend of mine says those hats are from the KVP.
For me it looks more like Forstwirtschaft but then,I don't have any reference for that,so may be someone can help me out.
    Here are the pics:
first one is a nice furry hat with untypical leather cover allaround

last one is a winter cap with the corcade missing

( it looks like it was the same corcade attached like on the hats above)
      cheers

        Andreas,

These look like Forestry caps to me. The winter weight Einsatzmutze has green piping and they both have green buttons as one would expect of Först Uniformen. I hope this helps.

they are nice ones, but I would also think they are Forstwirtschaft...from memory, I think they used the oakwreath like that...Cheers, Torsten. (ebay id german.militaria).

            Thanks SCHUPO and Torsten

that was my Thought too, when I first saw them. But we nearly had an arguement yesterday about the hats, because he was told the hats are from the KVP when he bought them.

nevertheless,I really like the furry hat with the leather coat

                  Question 2

I haven't received it yet but the hat pictured below I bought on ebay. I don't know if it is a forestry hat or early Deutsch Grenzpolizei hat? Anybody have any opinions or knowledge of this hat? Thanks for the help. Mike

                    Hi Mike,

Interesting hat. Some time back I passed on a very similar hat, which was the same but didn't have the Police Star Cockade. I couldn't identify the hat, so I let it go.

I have only seen the Police Star Cockade on the blue M-43 hats with one button and with two buttons. I am not sure what the gray M-43 hat with bright green striping is? Perhaps Grenzpolizei? I can't find an example anywhere.

                      Mike,

I will be interested in seeing more photos of your cap when you receive it. I have always associated these caps with the West German Forestry Service. While this sort of Einheitsmütze was worn by the Polizei, the police caps I have seen were only piped around the crown, not the flaps. The button also appears West German but I have seen some that have the distinctive green plastic button that one finds on Först uniforms. A view of the inside and markings will make things more clear.

                        Thanks

Thanks for the info. It may be a Frankenhat created out of west and east German items. I also thought if it was very early it could be an early state hat of the DGP. I didn't mind buying it because I thought it looked cool. Mike

Mike, the Tri-color Polizei Star Cockade is probably worth what you paid for the entire combo.
