      Marcus,

You are correct! This is a late model (1980's) Czech Jump Badge and It is made of hard plastic. This was the second most commonly seen pair of foreign jump badges on East German FJ tunics, the first being the USSR.

      Best,
      John

Hey John...thanks for the quick round...with your Czech airborne badge...that badge like others I have seen have similar body shape characteristics.

Alright Dave...Well it appears that Marcus has gotten enough sleep and is eagerly awaiting for your next round...

Hello all...It appears Dave maybe busy and out of pocket right now and I for sure want to see more rounds from him. So for the time being could a forum member step to plate and post an item so we can continue. And when Dave returns he can continue the next round to stump us. Thanks...

Congratulations, you are correct! For some reason I thought you might be the one to get this one right.

It is your turn to a post an award or medal.

                      Congratulations Dejan. Well done.

John. Or Dejan. I too would be interested in knowing what the date on this particular Academy Badge represents, since there is a more common variant that is produced without the date.

Good day all...While we wait for Dejan and Dave to start us into the next round. I will get us going into this round. So with that...you need to identify the medal, country of origin and the year first issued...

                        Hint: it is Cold War...

                              Country of origin: East Germany.

Badge: Honour medal of the committee of the Antifashisti Widerstandskampfer of the GDR.

                                Hi

As I know there are four different badges of this type.First type is without star in the center, second one is with star in center, third one is with date and year and fourth one is only with year 1942.Badge is for army high academy graduate.I am not aware what represent date and year on badge but it could be start of course for high officers or raise of new brigade or any significant event in partisans movement.Sword, rifle and canon represents basic symbols for army academy.

                                Regards
