This is something I did a long time ago, maybe 10 years now. I bought that sub clock and had a friend make a mantel-thingee for it to sit on. He did it for me in Teak and Mahogany. I then added a few embellishments like the Order of the Red Star and the Order of the Great Patriotic War and some Soviet Navy related items. I had an extra DDR Volksmarine cap cockade so I tossed that onthere as well in the interest of comradship.
The clock keeps fairly poor time. It'll go for a month or three keeping perfect time then it'll gain or lose a few minutes, or just completely stop. I spent over a hundred USD once to have it taken apart, adjusted and lubricated. It still ran like crap. So now I drop a little Shimano Reel Oil in it whenever it starts acting up. That seems to do the trick.
