Has anybody an idea which academy this is and when it was made (approximately)?

This is the badge of High Naval Collage of Underwater Sailing named after Lenin's Comsomol in Leningrad.
Such a badge never existed officially but graduate could order such a shield with collage name private.

Thanks. I am wondering because this is a tunic of a German NVA-army officer. Could it be possible?

I think it's basically a submariner's badge and not something you'd see on an NVA army tunic.

Generally speaking, I've only seen Soviet Academy badges being worn by higher, field grade and above, Warsaw Pact officers - and I've yet to see a post 1950s photo of someone wearing a graduate's diamond with a name plaque on it....

        Regards

it belonged to a General. Actually I have no reason to doubt this set. According to his biographie he was in the SU before and during the war and he attended a special training in 1950/51 in Priwolsk (Wolsk). I have no more information about his studies in the SU.

            It is impossible.
Even if the general was Naval officer before - all DDR Naval officers in USSR studied in High Naval Collage named after Kirov in Baku.

Also as it seems to be a late Version Badge, not a 1950's one.

Thanks. This man died in 1982. Whatever the reason for this badge is - we will never know - I will keep it where it is, because the set came from the family.

What is the translation of the word on the name plaque?

The top four letters are initials, essentially for "Academy" while the lower curved word means "Submarine".

"Higher Military Maritime College" (or words to that effect)
