Interesting group... What is his unit on the Victory Over Germany document?

Looks like he was a Smersh officer on the Front Staff (about right for a Lieutenant Colonel/Colonel) possibly the Chief of Staff of the general who signed his Caucuses document.

When you get the research back on the group, I would bet that the Red Banner and the Lenin are long service awards (probably given within months of each other) and then the second Red Banner is his "retirement" award (though probably given a year or two before retirement... Probably at the 30 year point).

I'd bet that he has one helluva autobiography though! Probably was one one of the "liquidation" teams in the 1920's.

That "Smersh" Caucasus must have been his WIFE-- it is to Maria Aleksandrovna Melkov!

Is the 1970 Lenin the CIVIL or MILITARY version?

I also have the award document to him, but I mixed up the photos!

I will treasure the memory when I am having yet another Senior Moment!

So, is that HIS or HERS for 1970?

And the award document for the Caucusus Medal.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, since i'm still attempting to master the printed Russian alphabet, so I'm pretty close to lost with the handwritten stuff!
