    ID this bar's awards?

I think he's a major by his boards. I see two stripes which makes him, what is the term, a field officer? But no rank stars.

The ID book from which this image was taken was dated 1958.

So the top row is probably ORB (RS?), RS (ORB?), BM, CSM.

The second row seems to be a VoG, Berlin, and then a Prague (only because of the lightness of outer stripe colors), and a 30 years of the Red Army medal.
The bottom row might be 40 years of the Red Army and a 20 years Irreproachable Service medal. Both were instituted the year before this ID was issued (and presumabley the photo was taken).

If my assumptions are true could it be he got one (or more) of the top row's awards for long service and then the 20 years ISM as well? Or is the last award a non-Soviet medal?

Your assumptions are right. I could say quite sure that he got his ORS and CSM for service, ORB and Bravery for combat actions and when Irreproachable service medals appeared in 1958, he just completed a 20 years service period.

Assuming that your guy entered red army in 1938 (or before if awarded retroactively), his 20 yrs ISM makes sense with this speculation.

    Hope it helps,
    Esteban

Very hard to see the rack in the picture but the first two look like Orders of the Red Banner

It may look he had two ORBs but take a closer look. The clear stripe of the second ribbon is narrower than the first. ergo, must be an ORS. But as you said, the whole picture would be needed to determine better.

No I can't at this moment. I can't remember if this is gonna be in the package coming from Ukraine or I got out-bid on it. It's been two and a half weeks so the package should show up any day now (fingers and toes crossed).
