    Hi Marcus,

All of the badges you listed go on the viewer's left side, the wearer's right side, of the chest.

Now, in your mind, draw a straight horizontal line about 7cm below the collar's / lapel's point. Beginning right and going inside out, line up the tops of NRs 4, 2, and 3 with the line. Done with row one!

Draw, in your mind, another line about 1-1.5cm bellow badges in row one. Along the line, center NRs 5 and 1 going inside out (tops touch the line). Done with row two!

Now continue the first mentioned line across the viewer's right side of the chest. That is your departure for the medals / ribbons. He would not have had many medals, perhaps the 80 yrs of Red Army medal... Line up the top of the suspension or ribbon with the line. Done!

The VLKSM badge would be worn under the medals following the pattern described above. Done!

I hope this makes sense. If not let me know.

BTW, Nuremberg also has a very famous XMas market. Let me know if you ever decide to see it and of course the other marvelous sightseeings, such as myself

        Done it, bloody thing.

I put a pin through my finger and lost the back to the sports badge

All done now, the Guards, jump and sports badge seem to be in thier original holes now; I didn't make any new ones. Of course it's been played around with when he got it tailored.

Please tell me this is correct, if not I will change it. If it's ok I'll do the same to the other one.

All I need now is a blue striped T- shirt for it.

Thanks for your help on this Albert, I'll post the STASI in the morning see what you think to that.

When I come to Germany next I'll let you know and we can have a drink or two god knows I need one now

        Kind regards,

        Marcus
