    Ribbon question...

Hello all - I need some assistance in identifying the posted ribbon? I believe the ribbon is Czechoslovakian and maybe the Decoration of Courage...but not sure...

It kinda reminds me of the Order of the Red Star, only with the Russian Colors in the middle...

Did the Russians keep and modify the Order of the Red Star with the new Regime?

Nico and Paul - Thanks for the follow up. The reason I was thinking it was Czech was because of the blue, red and white color which was the same as the czech flag. And there reason for the decoration of courage is because it matchs the ribbon except that the decoration of courage is blue and my ribbon is maroon on both sides of the multi colors.

So I for sure could be in the wrong country, but to date I have been unable to locate another WP country that comes close to this ribbon color set up. So I am open to yours and any other forum members posts about the ribbon.

The colours would suggest something Slavic, but I don't think you can treat the central element as a "flag" as no national flag has/had a red in the centre of a tricolor.

I have no idea what it is btw, just adding some thoughts ;-)

                Isn't it Serb? Ww1?
I also seem to remember it being a VFW medal ribbon for colour guards.

Ooops-wrong pattern: red, blue white is the Serbian VFW one. sorry.

                    Hi Ralph,

Your guess about Czekoslovakia is right.

This is the medal "30 Years of the SNB", rhe National Security Corps (Sbor Narodni Bezpecnosti-SNB). It comprises Public Security (Verejna Bezpecnost--VB) and State Security (Statni Bezpecnost--StB).

                    Ch.

                        Hi Paul,

This is thanks to Ralph and his perseverance. Could have found it earlier, but I just came back recently a little bit more actively on this Forum.

                        Cheers.
