A German Made Marshal of the USSR?
This uniform came out of a private colelction in Russia back in 1997. The material is the best quality I have ever seen on a non-full parade uniform. This is not suprising as it is German material! It has often been noted that the Russians used lots of captured materials and leather in making some hats and belts, etc. in 1945-1946, but this is the first instance I know of where they made a full Marshals uniform. The uniform came from the estate of Marshal Konev, though I have been told that he got the uniform as a gift for Stalin, though it was never given. I have added the hat myself; a M1940 Generals parade hat.
