      Gents,

This photo, a staple in all the early editions of Der Reibert, arrived today.

Enjoy the clarity and the splinter camo!

      All the best,

        Great thread!

I'm collecting early Bw photo albums, especially tank units wearing splittertarn.
I have many albums and would like to share some pictures.

        Regards, Matthias

            Gents,

Attached please find this candid photo of a Uffz. Heinz Weber in splinter camo. Note the blank firing attachment on his G1.

If I'm reading the caption correctly, it would appear as though Weber perished in a plane crash on November 5, 1963. I'll run a scan of the caption next.

            All the best,
            TJ

                  Hello werner p.,

Thanks very much for the translation and correcting the date. It seems to confirm my earlier thoughts.

                  All the best,

What makes this photo interesting to me is you can see how worn out the uniform is. Given that the picture was probably taken in 1963 or perhaps 1961-1962, it confirms how worn out these uniforms looked after 5+ years of hard use.
