          Very nice! I remember the days when the Internet was young and finding photos of the uniform in use was rare. I like things better now

            Nice Pictures

            Thanks for posting your pictures. It is often difficult to find period pictures of soldiers wearing the splinter uniform from that era.

                  In cas you are in need of more pictures and did miss the "book-thread" until now...

                  "Es begann in Andernach 1955-58 - A Pictorial Journey through the Early Years of the Bundeswehr"

                  136 pages with 208 pictures from the years 1955-58 !

                  Format is 280 x 210 mm, the book is case-bound and the texts are German and English.

                  Lots of uniforms, weapons, vehicles and insignia as pictured by the press-photographer Rolf Baumann.

                  You may order it via the publishers web-shop at VS-BOOKS:

                  https://www.vs-books.de/shop/details...=1&start=0&nr=

                  Or send me a PM if the German shop menu will case a problem...

                  A second volume is just closed to its release containing more then 200 pictures dating 1956 to 1966!

                        This Falli is on at least three different threads...

                        werner p. it is great to see your candid photos; always plenty to learn. This is the first time I have noticed Heer soldiers wearing the soft cap under their helmets, U.S. Marine style.

                        Many thanks,

                        TJ

                          Werner;
                          I google every half year or so if the zeltbahn book is available yet.
                          Any news ?
                          I'm really hoping some of my zelts are in it.

                            zeltbahn book

                            Kees,

                            I just got an email from my friend in hong kong (after almost 2 years of silence)
                            good news is that he is alive, bad news is that he is having a really bad time
                            So the book isn't his priority nr 1 right now
                            And since he has all the pics and data with him and the contacts with the printers
                            all I can do is wait and hope for the best.

                            The project is postponed, but not cancelled.
                            I'm focusing on my own projects now of which I am the one and only author. And by the looks of it, that project will be released way before the zeltbahn book will.

                              Werner;
                              Thank you for the update on the situation.
                              It has been 3 years since I sent pics from over a dozen shelter halfs to your friend,I hope everything works out fine for him.
                              Sounds like it would be best that you should take over the whole zeltbahn project .
                              Good luck with your own projects wich I'm sure will be super as they were in the past.
