I have several 1950's era, German cameras in my collection. I have toyed with the idea of using them to photograph my early BGS items to get that "authentic and vintage" feeling to the photos, but I have never got around to it. For now I just display them with my BGS collection.
All of us who research and collect the early BGS items have seen the many photo albums from BGS veterans online. With so many field photos that were taken, I always assumed that it must have been common for the troopers in the field to carry personal cameras with their gear, but I have not actually seen any photos that show the cameras, until the other day.
I found a photo over at the BGS Veteran's Site that actually shows a trooper in the field, with his camera. http://www.beim-alten-bgs.de/Zu_den_...denseiten.html
Now I can justify displaying one of the cameras with my BGS field gear. I always like to have the historical photo to back up the display configuration! Does anyone else display cameras with their gear?
