Something to laugh ... at Ebay

Note the gold bullion Marineflieger pilot wing in the small style in use since the 90s and the 1957 observer badge which in no way corresponds to the pilot badge at the bar ...

    Ramjet,

I saw this auction and followed it for a while. Good for you to post it so perhaps some BW collectors could learn something. I would like to add to it.
First of all, anyone buying a BW Luftwaffe uniform with 57 badges on it should look at the 57er forum on the WAF and compare the badges posted there. Here is a picture of a 57 pilots badge from the 57er forum. As well, there is a picture of the Luftwaffe pilots badge of the period this uniform would have been worn.

    Regards,

    Gordon

          "100% ORIGINAL"

Perhaps it is somewhere, but in this world it is not

In Walter von Mitty's world, perhaps?

I think if there is any more "bling" on that LW tunic it will break the mannequin it is hanging on

Gordon, even though this seller is something like 2200 miles away from me I've actually met him in person. Runs a very nice old style Army & Navy store outside of Dallas. Pretty big too. This item, however, is not one of their best items I've seen some of these in the past. I wonder if it is the same company (STURM perhaps?) that modified Austrian camouflage jackets with the same sort of waist. Clearly meant to make a general fashion item.

... the picture was taken at November 12th. At November 11th the carnival season 2014/15 started in the Rhineland. Maybe there is a conjunction ...

Let's see. The jacket is worth about EUR 2 and all the badging combined isn't worth more than EUR 10. So I guess a starting price of EUR 50 is fair

This camo pattern seems to work on carpets very well (see 3rd picture).

I assume the final price will not be laughable at all. 8 bids and 3 more days to go.

"WW2/WW1 Baden war hat" from self-proclaimed "trusted North American seller" - not sure how much to trust him, when cannot identify basic history or to distinguish 1970s Hessen Polizei from WW1 Baden. Only USD 599.99!

                              http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-RAR...item541461cd81

The description is also good. You can hold it and smell it!
NOTE: this is not some cheap reproduction! you can literally feel all the history behind the person who once wore this, when you hold it in your hands or smell it! It has some writing inside.. maybe maker, maybe owner, maybe somethign else..
