    stonemint,

    Now that is a great find. Didn't know they were produced with those markings in them.

    Regards,

                Thanks for keeping up with these Stonemint! I am looking for one of these orange piped Rheinland-Pfalz caps myself.

                    Miniature Alkero,Peter Küpper visors

                    This lot came in recently; Polizei miniatures.
                    The Tschako,the only without maker mark,is about 6 or 7 cm high for size reference.
                    So the 57 size tag in the Alkero visor is a litlle bit overrated.
                    All the best,
                    Kees

                      Ah! This gives me the opportunity to ask... what is the story behind the miniatures? A couple of times I also bid on a mini Tschako by mistake

                        Steve;
                        Maybe the thought behind these miniatures is that a person that buys the regular size,buys a small one as well to give to his child to inspire him or her for future interests.
                        Or it could be bought for just display purposes.
                        I don't think Alkero gave these away as promotional items.
                        In fact these miniatures are still part of Alkero's product line and can be bought as you see on their website;
                        http://www.kempf-muetzen.de/schirm.htm
                        To bad there are no prices on the site.
                        All the best,
                        Kees

                              Thanks Stone !
                              Here's another one but I think at some point they've replaced the badges for more modern ones.
                              Label reads; Kleiderkasse Der Deutsche Bundesbahn 1900-1950 Carl Isken .

                                Kees,

                                Two very interest caps. Especially the second one if you have some provenance for it. The Bundesbahnpolizei became part of the BGS 1 April 1990 and I have no doubt that at first they wore their Bundesbahnpolizei uniforms with new badges added. So this Bundesbahnpolizei cap with BGS badges makes a lot of sense. The blue cap cord dates from the rank structure of the mid 80s and was worn by those in the pay grades A5 to A9. Thanks for showing these two caps.

                                Regards,

                                Gordon
